"NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY...IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT THE MUSIC"
"NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY...IT'S ALWAYS ABOUT THE MUSIC"
Mike was born and raised in Wood County, Texas in a home filled with music. His father played the banjo, guitar, bass, and harmonica. That influence led Mike to become an accomplished guitarist and most recently he added the mandolin to his musical arsenal. Mike shares his home in Lindale with his lovely wife Carla.
Early on he played for Rose City Bluegrass and the Evangeliers Gospel, but for the past 15 years he has mainly performed solo. He was raised on a mixture of Flatt and Scruggs and Johnny Cash which later blended with Kristofferson and other more modern songsmiths. His unique style is pleasing and personal. Mike is a true balladeer who can paint a picture and tell a story with only his voice and his guitar. He does throw in the occasional whimsical song to lighten the mood, but his style and his ability with his guitar will remind you of some of our greatest ballad singers such as Ian Tyson, Gordon Lightfoot, Tom T. Hall, and John Denver.
